I’m Chloe Ricketts (née Houlihan). I’m an independent software engineer living in a small, terraced cottage in the heart of the Sussex countryside with my partner and our dog, Whiskey.
After seven years in the industry, six of those spent building mobile apps for others, I decided it was time to forge my own path. I wanted to build software that felt more human, more deliberate, and a little less "loud" than the corporate world usually allows.
The name Rickety Software is a bit of a play on our shared surname. Whilst I look after the engineering, my fiancé (we’re getting married in March 2026) acts as CEO. He’s the creative mind behind some of our more complex designs, which we hope to bring to life in the coming years.
At the moment, we’re mostly focused on finding a bit of balance and making things that we actually enjoy using ourselves.
